Thriving Families

Empowering families with resources that allow them to support themselves.

Livingston County is a strong community with thousands of working families, including 21%* who are living on a paycheck-to-paycheck treadmill. In addition six percent of residents meet the federal poverty definition. Livingston County United Way works collaboratively with local initiatives to break down barriers and give people a better shot at a good life.

Our work focuses on financial stability initiatives that move families from:

  • Crisis-management to solid ground
  • Housing and food insecurity to safety and health
  • Uncertainty to a better quality of life through education, assistance and empowerment.

*based on 2015 Census data.
